Olamide Sax is a UK-based Nigerian Afro-fusion artist and multi-instrumentalist — saxophone, vocals, keys and Yoruba percussion — and a participatory artist and creative facilitator, named Best Instrumentalist of the Year at the 2026 Eko Heritage Awards.

Olamide Phillips Olaniyan — known as Olamide Sax — is a Nigerian-born Afro-Fusion Artist, Multi-Instrumentalist, Theatre & Participatory Artist and Creative Facilitator based in the United Kingdom. With over a decade of musical experience, his journey began in traditional Yoruba percussion before expanding into saxophone, piano, vocal performance and composition.
He works across live music, theatre, festivals and participatory arts, and has performed at recognised UK platforms including CAST Theatre, Stand & Be Counted Theatre, ArtBomb UK, Utopia Theatre, Manchester Africa Day Festival and Black Pride Festival — spanning original music, theatre productions, cultural events and multidisciplinary collaborations.
A graduate of the darts & Maya Productions Artist Development Programme in Creative Health and Participatory Arts, he develops and facilitates creative workshops across singing, drumming, movement, memory and community wellbeing. He is the founder and lead artist of Lammy Wonder Creatives — home of Olamide Sax, African Rhythm, Better Rhythm, Sax Theatre and the Vibes on Vibes Music Band — a platform dedicated to Afro-fusion performance, cultural engagement and live music.
